Pods   jump to artist's statement
	Artist statement Hoping to show a fantasy, I start with an actual pod or form i've seen or handled such as a gourd.  I then embellish their exterior with elements of texture, variations of color, harsh line, and fading refections.  In some of them a reminiscence of an electric beam illumination emerges from a split in the pod.  The shapes are simple yet hold a suspicion that there is something intricate and unusual   hidden inside.  -Steve Storz, 2009
